Shiva, 6142 m

Mick Fowler and Paul Ramsden succeed in climbing a fantastic line on the pillar of Shiva. This isolated mountain is located in Tarundi Valley, Pangi region (Himachal Pradesh). The famous party led a nine-day climb in total (including two days of a complex approach on glacier), in a pure alpine style, and of course without carrying off "bolts". The route "Prow of Shiva" is one of the most beautiful realization of Mick Fowler. This 56 years old climber already got an impressive number of successes : Taullijaru, Golden Pillar in Spantik, Changabang, Arwa Tower, Siguniang, Kajaqiao, to name just a few of them which have inspired many climbers and encourage them to turn to the Alpine style. The Climbing (ED +) benefit of a great and unexpected granite and follow some thin ice streams with exposed passages. Fowler and Ramsden summited on the 11th of  October. The two days descent was on the south ridge south and south-east face. No doubt it is one of the finest achievements of the year.
